Mind Matters – Mental and Physical Health Fair

Join Area Health Education Center and the Sumter County Chamber of Commerce for a day of mental and physical health awareness on the University of West Alabama Campus.  Mental and Physical health resources from around the region will set up booths providing information of the resources they offer so that the community can reach optimum health. Come on out for free food, music and health checks.

Sucarnochee Folklife Festival

The 13th Annual Sucarnochee Folklife Festival is dedicated to the preservation and celebration of the unique life ways of Black Belt residents.  This yearly festival, held on the third Saturday of April features demonstrations of traditional crafts including pottery, metal works, quilting and more from artists throughout the State. UWA Tiger Triathlon

UWA Tiger Triathlon – Livingston is excited for its second annual triathlon, a USAT-Sanctioned Non-Draft race course will highlight the town of Livingston, Alabama. The University of West Alabama is one of eight schools who were given a grant to fund an NCAA-sponsored Triathlon program. The 500m swim, 12.4-mile bike ride, and 5K run will give you an idea of what it is like to be a triathlete in this town

Hwy 11 Antique Ally

The US Highway 11 Antique sale takes place the second full weekend (Thursday – Sunday) after Mother’s Day each May.  This 502 mile festive roadside yard sale spans from the Meridian, Mississippi to Bristol, Virginia.  Each town along Hwy 11 hosts its own festivals, antique sales, flea markets, yard sales, and other activities.   Don’t miss this opportunity to get off the interstate highways and take the “old back roads,” especially on a spring weekend, through the Heart of Dixie and the scenic Tennessee Valley. Shop…
